Baxter, Bostock and Wilshere named in England Under-17 Finals Squad

On Monday, England Under-17 coach John Peacock confirmed his final party for May’s European Under-17 Championships in Germany. It included three of the prospect list, in Jose Baxter of Everton, Tottenham’s John Bostock, and Arsenal’s Jack Wilshere.

Arsenal reach FA Youth Cup Final

On Wednesday night in front of a disappointly low 9,000 crowd at the Emirates Stadium, Arsenal reached the FA Youth Cup Final for the first time in eight years by eliminating Manchester City. A 4-1 win on the night and a 6-2 aggregate win was achieved with some fine performances by recognisable faces from the prospect list.

Brazilian-born midfielder Rodrigo Possebon has been called into Under-20 coach Francesco Rocca’s squad for next week’s friendly with Germany.

City finish fourth in Dallas

Jim Cassell’s youngsters finished fourth in the XXX Dallas Cup, which has been taking place over the past week. After an impressive group stage, City fell at the Semi Final stage on penalty kicks to Brazilian outfit Sao Paulo after a 0-0 draw, before losing the 3rd/4th playoff to Germans Eintracht Frankfurt.

Macheda at it again (including video)

The legend of Federico Macheda continues to grow. Last Sunday, he came off the bench to earn a crucial three points for Manchester United at home to Aston Villa, crowning a wonderful debut with a stoppage time stunner. A week later, he needed just sixty seconds to find the scoresheet at Sunderland.
