The Player

After being rejected by Manchester United and Chelsea, you can forgive Paris Cowan-Hall if he bears a grudge. After ultimately signing with Portsmouth, his aim will surely have been to set about proving the big guns wrong and reaching a stage in his career where he can dish out retribution.

Sure, he’s on the short side, and isn’t going to go knocking doors down with his strength, but he does have great pace and anticipation, and he can finish. He’s got a decent attitude and when in form takes something to stop. He can line up in a lead role but is better as a support striker, where he’s able to take players wide and run at them whilst giving others the space to move into.

2008/09

He’s been a regular in the Portsmouth academy and Reserve teams, looking to impress in a team often littered with first-team overflow. He’s not yet threatened the top squad at Fratton Park, but he’s got a chance.
